TOMMY LEE To Host BEATPORT MUSIC AWARDS In Miami

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer, electro-house DJ and visualist Tommy Lee will host the annual Beatport Music Awards (BMAs) on March 27 at the Gansevoort Hotel in Miami, Florida. The awards will serve as a finale to the seventh annual Beatport Beach Party which will be held during the traditional last weekend in March, beginning Thursday, March 24. This occasion marks the largest-scale production Beatport has ever brought to Miami and the first time that the Beatport Music Awards will be staged as a live event.

The Beatport Music Awards are dedicated to recognizing electronic music talent within a variety of genres with categories that include "Track Of The Year," "Producer Of The Year" and "Remix Of The Year," to name a few. Past awardees have included such renowned DJs as Deadmau5, Dennis Ferrer, and Armin Van Buuren. Prior to the awards, Beatport will host the Beatport Beach Party March 24-27 at the Gansevoort Hotel. The party will include over 36 performances from the world's top DJs, including Richie Hawtin, Steve Angello, and Dubfire, to name a few. Hawtin will also curate an entire day of performances showcasing various artists. In addition to four days of live acts, the Beatport Beach Party will include discussions and product demonstrations from leading audio production, and DJ hardware and software companies, including Pioneer DJ.

Hosting this event with Tommy Lee will certainly be fun, and possibly a little dangerous. 2011 will be our biggest year in Miami to date, and any real fan of DJs and electronic dance music should be there," said Beatport CEO Matthew Adell.

The Beatport Music Services team will also host a question-and-answer panel that will grant artists and labels a chance to ask questions and get tips on the most effective ways to market their music on Beatport.
