TOMMY LEE: "VINCE NEIL And I Absolutely Hate Each Other"

August 5, 2002

Despite continuous rumors to the contrary, ex-MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has no intention of rejoining his former bandmates for a farewell tour.

"Right now I'm having so much fun doing this [solo tour] that I don't even really think about it," Lee said in a recent interview. "And I know [CRÜE bassist] Nikki [Sixx] has actually mentioned it or posted it somewhere I'm like, 'Dude, you can't do that. You're fuckin' misleading people. Because I haven't said 'yes', and to tell you the truth, I'm having such a great time doing this I can't really see myself doing it--at least in the near future. Maybe somewhere down the road, maybe, but right now don't tell people that because that's not cool to do."

At least one obstacle standing in the way of a reunion seems to be intense dislike for singer Vince Neil. " It's weird. I can't even imagine [playing with him in a band again]. Vince and I fuckin' absolutely fuckin' hate each other! So I can't imagine going on tour and sitting there being happy doing that. Unless we were to work some shit out, which I just find that to be a little more work than either one of us wants to put in."
