TRAIL OF TEARS, UNEXPECT: Quebec City Photos, Report Available

January 24, 2008

Capitale du Metal has uploaded high-quality photos of TRAIL OF TEARS' and UNEXPECT's January 22, 2008 concert in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Check them out: Trail of Tears, Unexpect.

Commented Capitale du Metal's Alain "Creepin' Death" Gagnon: "Tuesday, January 22nd was a bizarre day for UNEXPECT, TRAIL OF TEARS and the people of Quebec City. It started it by a visit to the garage to repair UNEXPECT's broken van that took a little longer than expected. They then had to drive through very difficult road conditions because of the snow that was falling to finally arrive way late at Le Velvet where the show was held in downtown Quebec City. In order to take a breather after such a hazardous drive, it was arranged for TRAIL OF TEARS to start the night even though the were headlining the show. The Norwegians gave a solid performance in front of a crowd that seemed to be discovering them. Their heavy gothic metal started the night on a high note. Well rested, UNEXPECT then took the stage to tear the place apart. The local favorites gave once again a lesson in both technical playing and tightness that is rarely seen. Their 'one-of-a-kind' metal took the audience by storm from beginning to end. The show was held in front of the biggest crowd of the tour so far."

TRAIL OF TEARS' fifth album, "Existentia", was issued in January 2007 via Napalm Records. The CD was recorded at Soundsuite Studio in Marseille, France with producer Terje Refsnes and includes contributions from French female singer Emmanuelle Zoldan and Norwegian keyboard master Bernt Moen.

TRAIL OF TEARS was last year rejoined by vocalist Cathrine Paulsen, who sang on the group's 2002 album, "A New Dimension of Might".

TRAIL OF TEARS members Jonathan Perez (drums),Kjell Hagen (bass),Runar Hansen (guitar) and Kjetil Nordhus (vocals) announced on November 28, 2006 that they were leaving the group. Vocalist Ronny Thorsen has since vowed to carry on with new members.
