TRIBE OF GYPSIES Offer Up Peace Anthem: 'Stop Bombing Each Other!'
August 4, 2006Los Angeles, CA-based Latin hard rockers TRIBE OF GYPSIES, featuring acclaimed guitarist/producer/songwriter Roy Z, (JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON),have uploaded a full-length version of "Stop Bombing Each Other!" at their MySpace page. The song comes off the band's brand new album, "Dweller On The Threshold", which was released July 20 on JVC/Victor.
"Given the recent developments in the Middle East where innocent civilians are being killed on both sides in yet another senseless war, we thought it would be appropriate to let people hear this song and maybe give the world an anthem to rally around", states mainman Roy Z. "It's crazy to think that we live in the 21st Century, in this highly advanced and very enlightened world, yet we still have not found a way to resolve conflict in a more peaceful way and continue to repeat the same patterns over and over. But, there is always hope and music is one of the most powerful things to bring people together and 'Stop Bombing Each Other!' expresses that sentiment of unity and brotherhood. The song is not meant as a political statement per se as we are not taking sides (click www.tribeofgypsies.com/disco/stop.html for lyrics) but rather an appeal to let peace and sanity prevail. We hope people dig the tune and let their friends know about it. Spread the word y'all!"
"Dweller On The Threshold", which was co-produced by Roy Z and L.A. studio legend Richard Podolor, is the TRIBE OF GYPSIES' first album to feature the group's current live lineup consisting of Z on lead guitar, former JASON BONHAM BAND vocalist Chas West, keyboardist Ray Rodriguez, percussionist Elvis Balladares, drummer David Moreno (BRUCE DICKINSON, EARSHOT),bassist Juan Perez (BRUCE DICKINSON, ZACK DE LA ROCHA),and second guitarist Christian Byrne. The band recently premiered several "Dweller..." songs at the UDO Music Festival in Japan alongside STEVE VAI, GODSMACK, PORCUPINE TREE and others.
