August 27, 2004

Norwegian symphonic metal band TRISTANIA have set "Ashes" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in January 2005 through SPV Records. The follow-up to 2001's "World of Glass" was recorded at Toproom studios in Oslo with producer Børge Finstad and will feature artwork by Christian Ruud. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Gate", "Cure", "Libre", "The Wretched", "Equilibrium" and "Shadowman". A comprehensive studio report and a description of the album by the band is available at this location.

In other news, TRISTANIA are currently preparing for their upcoming European tour with THERION and TRAIL OF TEARS. "It will be great to go out on the road again, and present you some of the new material," TRISTANIA write on their web site. "A couple of weeks ago, we did our first show after a long break from touring while we have worked on the new album — on the M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim, Germany (setlist). It was a good concert, and the audience also seemed to enjoy the 2 new songs we did. It was great for us to finally begin with the live part again. The upcoming tour will be quite long, I believe 30 shows in 31 days. We're looking forward to it!" A complete list of the tour dates is available at this location.
