TRIVIUM: Video Interview With COREY And MATT Available
May 9, 2007TRIVIUM guitarists Corey Beaulieu and Matt Heafy recently answered some of the "Ask the Band" questions from Scuzz TV viewers. Watch the seven-minute clip at YouTube.
Corey Beaulieu recently commented on TRIVIUM's future musical direction following the mixed reaction that met the band's last effort, 2006's "The Crusade".
Said Beaulieu, "'The Crusade' we didn't have as much time to make as we had on 'Ascendancy'... only a few weeks. But the next record we are scheduling a lot more time to make it to really have the time to make a great record. We have been going through our material and definitely the next record we want to take all the best aspects of both 'Ascendancy' and 'The Crusade' and really mesh it into one sound.. 'cause each record has different things we like so we really want to take that and combine it and really make a record that people will love. We are excited to make it and really slam out a killer metal record and not feel rushed to do it."
TRIVIUM filmed a video for the song "The Rising" with directors Artifical Army in March in the Los Angeles area. According to a casting call sheet, the concept for the video is "a technological assault on the world told through the eyes and shadows of youth, nature, war, and disaster."
The follow-up to 2005's "Ascendancy", "The Crusade" was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, FL, just outside of Orlando. Once again produced by TRIVIUM and Jason Suecof, the CD has sold more than 100,000 copies in the United States since its October 10 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
