TWISTED SISTER Frontman To Serve As Grand Marshall Of MARCH OF DIMES RIDE

July 21, 2005

According to TownTimes.com, Dee Snider of TWISTED SISTER fame will serve as the grand marshall for the fifth consecutive year of the March of Dimes 13th annual RIDE.

Over 2,500 motorcycle riders from across Connecticut will gather together on Sunday, August 28 for the RIDE, which will begin at the Middletown Elks Lodge (70 Maynard Road) and end in Westbrook. Last year's event raised a record $100,000.

Registration for the event is 9:30-10:45 a.m., and the ride will begin at 11am. Both riders and passengers must each collect a minimum of $25 to RIDE. The ride will be held rain or shine and all motorcycles are welcome. All proceeds benefit the March of Dimes in support of its mission, to improve the lives of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.

Following a 40-mile RIDE through the Connecticut River Valley, a post-RIDE shoreline BBQ will be hosted by the Westbrook Elks Lodge. Vendor sales, live music by Shovelhead, lunch, pins and raffles will await the riders. The BBQ is from 12-2pm.

For more information regarding the RIDE, please contact Melenie Orendorf at the March of Dimes at 860-812-0080 extension 310 or by emailing [email protected] or visit www.marchofdimes.com/connecticut.
