UK's CYNIC Completes Work On New Album

February 11, 2008

Reactivated NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) outfit CYNIC — not to be confused with the reunited American progressive metallers CYNIC, whose 1993 album "Focus" is regarded as a landmark release in the field of technical/progressive metal — has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"Putting the Wacken adventure behind us, we would like to remind heavy metal fans that CYNIC, who made 'Do or Die' in 1982 (a current torrent download),and 'Suicide' in 1983 (also a current torrent download and one of the most expensive vinyl singles to collect),'Rebel Eye' in 1987 and the re-mastered 'Right Between the Eyes' in 2003 have completed their album, 'Biblical Flood'. This was recorded at Rockfield recording studio (where RUSH recorded 'Hemispheres' and 'A Farewell to Kings' albums — and one of the legendary UK residential studios) Monmouth October 2006 — with vocals at Yellow Shark Studios February 2007, and mix and mastering at the Stone House Studio March to July 2007. The engineer was Matt Butler — former George Martin AIR Montserrat studio engineer, credited on RUSH 'Hold Your Fire' and 'Power Windows' albums — he has also worked with Paul McCartney, DIRE STRAITS, Gary Moore, BLACK SABBATH, Phil Collins, PINK FLOYD, to name a very small few. Samples of the album are available on YouTube. This album will be released as vinyl, CD and download available through www.cynic.me.uk or www.ondrums.co.uk."
