UNDER EDEN Parts Ways With Bassist
January 3, 2009Minnesota death/thrash outfit UNDER EDEN has issued the following update:
"As is probably obvious by now, the completion of our next album [a concept effort entitled 'The Science of Self-Defeat'] has been delayed by everything from the mundane 'real-world' obligations of work and college to things of a more physically challenging nature like injuries and illness. Regardless, UNDER EDEN is now back on track to record the remainder of the new songs in January. No plans for a self-released album though — we will be seeking a new label to put this one out!
"In other band news, bassist Jesse Wedel has left UNDER EDEN to pursue a new project. He will still contribute bass tracks to the upcoming album, but we will play our scheduled shows as a four-piece. Prior to Jesse joining back in 2005, it was just the four of us, so it'll be like 'back in the day' for the immediate future. Although we are not auditioning bassists until recording is complete, anyone interested can certainly contact us for future consideration."
UNDER EDEN last year issued an EP entitled "Phoenix on Frozen Wings", consisting of three new tracks and remixed versions of two songs from the group's 2005 debut "The Savage Circle". The new songs were self-produced by UNDER EDEN, while the remixes were handled by longtime collaborator Jamie Strobach in order to present the earlier songs in the manner originally intended by the band but absent from the Black Lotus release.
