UNDERCURRENT Cancel This Weekend's Gig
February 18, 2005UNDERCURRENT, the new band featuring former MORBID ANGEL frontman Steven Tucker on guitar/vocals, have cancelled their previously announced Feb. 19 appearance at Never on Sundays in Cincinnati, Ohio "due to unforeseen difficulties," according to Tucker. The group, which is rounded out by Tomaz (also of the band DISENTER) on drums, Anthony Gentry (Steve Tucker's brother from the band SUBVINYL) on bass, and Greg Reed (CEREMONY, DISASTERNAUT) on guitar, will instead be making their live debut on Friday, February 25 at the legendary Cincinnati club Sudsy Malone's. A small tour is also being scheduled for the end of April going through the Midwest and East Coast. Exact cities and dates will be announced shortly.
UNDERCURRENT, whose sound is is described as a departure from the death metal roots of most of the group's bandmembers," are currently in talks with record labels for a full-length release. More information is available on the band's MySpace.com page.
