UNEARTH Guitarist Interviewed In Montreal
January 8, 2010HardTimes.ca conducted an interview with guitarist Ken Susi of Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH when the band played in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on December 17, 2009 with CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATEBREED, HATE ETERNAL and BORN OF OSIRIS. Watch the chat below.
UNEARTH will headline for the second installment of the highly successful Atticus Metal Tour. Joining UNEARTH on the trek are STICK TO YOUR GUNS, VEIL OF MAYA, THE GHOST INSIDE and CARNIFEX. DARKEST HOUR, STRAY FROM THE PATH and YOUR DEMISE will also appear on select dates.
Commented UNEARTH frontman Trevor Phipps: "This is going to be our first North American headlining tour in over a year and we are amped to get back out there. We'll be playing tunes from all of our albums, some extra deep cuts we haven't played in a while and some stuff we haven't played live yet from [the latest UNEARTH album] 'The March'. We've been messing around with some different lights and stage set ups and will mix up the set each night, so it will be different from past tours. It's a solid package of bands and we can't wait to get on stage, play a headlining set and rage with our fans."
The deluxe version of UNEARTH's latest album, "The March", was released on November 10. The CD comes with a bonus DVD containing a tour documentary entitled "The Three Day March", featuring footage shot by acclaimed director Doug Spangenberg (LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE, JOB FOR A COWBOY) during UNEARTH's recent tour of the northeastern U.S. The DVD also features footage from inside the studio during the band's recording sessions for "The March" as well as party footage from the group's tour with TESTAMENT, entitled "Gig Life". In addition to the candid behind-the-scenes material, live footage of four songs are included from the Wacken Open Air festival in 2008. Rounding out the DVD are the three music videos shot for "The March" — "My Will Be Done", "Grave Of Opportunity" and "Crow Killer".
According to a press release, "fans who have got their hands on the band's DVD, 'Alive From The Apocalypse', know that UNEARTH are a near-perpetual party machine while on the road, so this bonus footage and the new videos are not to be missed!"
