UNEARTH Pulls Out Of Germany's SUMMER BREEZE Festival
April 8, 2009New England metallers UNEARTH have cancelled their appearance at this year's installment of the Summer Breeze festival, set to take place August 13-15, 2009 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. No reason was given for the cancellation.
UNEARTH is currently gearing up for its tour with TESTAMENT, which kicks off on May 2 in Seattle. The band is touring to support its critically acclaimed album, "The March", which hit streets on October 14, 2008 and debuted at No. 45 on The Billboard 200 chart. Revolver magazine called "The March" a "magnificently majestic group effort" and praised it as "some of the smartest writing in metal."
Vocalist Trevor Phipps commented: "I've been a fan of TESTAMENT since I was a kid, so it'll be a great time each night for me. It's always fun to play our set, and it'll be awesome to catch TESTAMENT after we play. We're gonna have six weeks of good times. It will also be cool to tour with our labelmates, [openers] LAZARUS A.D. They're on their first record with Metal Blade. I heard their album last night, and it had some great shred parts. This whole tour is going to be a shred fest for sure!"
"Being such big fans of TESTAMENT, and to see this new appreciation of heavy thrash music, especially with the kids, is really something special," added UNEARTH drummer Derek Kerswill. "Between TESTAMENT, us, and LAZARUS A.D., it's a cool family of traveling thrash ridiculousness. We're thankful to be out with a band that we're not only fans of, but that slays are hard as they do. It blows my mind that the guys in TESTAMENT in their 40s, and they're throwing down harder than kids in their 20s. We're out there preaching the metal gospel, so the kids better bring a helmet 'cuz we'll be knocking down walls everywhere we play!"
On March 19, UNEARTH teamed up with Artificial Army to shoot a video for the song "Grave of Opportunity". The clip's release will coincide with the TESTAMENT tour.
