UNGODLY To Open For SLAYER In Brazil
August 23, 2006Brazilian death/black metallers UNGODLY have been confirmed as the opening act for SLAYER in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on Sep. 1-2 and Sep. 6, respectively. UNGODLY was added to the bill as the replacement for Canada's THINE EYES BLEED (featuring bassist Johnny Araya; brother of SLAYER's Tom Araya),who dropped off the gigs for undisclosed reasons.
UNGODLY's self-titled debut — featuring re-recordings of three tracks form the MCD "Hate Celebration" (2004): "Laid In Ashes", "Hate Celebration" and "Pestilence of the Limbo" — was released earlier in the year via Dynamo Records (owned by Eric de Haas of Century Media Brasil). The digipack version of the CD includes a video for the song "Murderers in the Name of God", a "super-production" that sixty professionals were involved in, including twenty-six actors, the movie director Eduardo Band and the producer Vinícius Neves, a TV host form the program "Stay Heavy".
