Update: DEF LEPPARD 'Postpones' Five Shows After JOE ELLIOTT Is Taken Ill

April 11, 2008

According to The Ottawa Citizen, five tour dates on DEF LEPPARD's current North American tour have been postponed after singer Joe Elliott was taken ill.

Concerts in Ottawa, Quebec City, Hamilton, Winnipeg and Grand Rapids, MI have been called off and are expected to be rescheduled. Existing tickets will be honored for all new dates.

The tour is expected to resume in Detroit on April 19.

In a review of the band's concert on Wednesday in Providence, Rhode Island, Providence Journal music writer Rick Massimo made reference to Elliott's health.

"While frontman Joe Elliott apparently was nursing a cold that hindered his ability to cut during the high notes last night (particularly in 'Photograph' and 'Let's Get Rocked'),the elements of the DEF LEPPARD formula were still basically in place," he wrote.

The band is about halfway through a 19-date tour that started March 27 in Greensboro, N.C.
