URN Sign With ROTTING CORPSE RECORDS

December 4, 2005

Chicago-based band URN have inked a deal with Rotting Corpse Records. The group have entered the studio to begin recording their new album, "Dancing with the Demigods", for an early 2006 release. A video for the single "Shadow Dancer" — featuring psychic vampire and author Michelle Belanger, who will also be featured for additional vocals as well as lyrics, along with the Vampire Don Henrie, most notably of Sci-Fi Channel's "Mad, Mad House" fame — will be in production this month.

URN were recently included on the Latex Records compilation "Primal River Valley" along with such acts as the CRUXSHADOWS, ASMODEUS X and GRIGORI 3. The band are also scheduled to appear on the Rotting Corpse Records compilation "Raw Aggression III", due out later this month.

According to the band's official bio, URN "consists of seasoned veterans of the international underground music circuits, taking its cues from acts such as TYPE O NEGATIVE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, DREAM THEATER as well as European bands such as LACUNA COIL, NIGHTWISH, THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, MOONSPELL and THE CULT. URN delivers an energetic live show that combines male/female vocal trade-off, churning guitars, bass, keyboards and power drumming."
