VADER Kicks Off Summer Touring Season

Polish death metal veterans VADER kicked off their summer touring season with two shows in Holland (May 5 in Wageningen and May 6 in Dordrecht). The band has scheduled around 30 gigs, including appearances at such prestigious festivals as Rock Hard, Hellraiser, Graspop Metal Meeting, Hellfest, Tuska, Waldrock, Kaltenbach, Wacken Open Air, Party.San and Brutal Assault.

Commented VADER frontman Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek: "We spent last weekend in Holland, playing two rather atypical shows there. The first one in Wageningen during Holland's celebrations of sovereignty (in May 1945). Great parade of the allied forces, among them a few veterans of the 1st Polish Panzer Division fighting in Belenux, about 100 000 people, 18 stages, one great party and ... VADER — the only extreme metal band in the town! We kicked off our show just before midnight, in front of thousands of metalheads hungry for carnage. What a great experience!

"The second gig took place in Dordrecht — about 60 km off Wageningen. After the arrival we realized that Bibelot Club is an old church converted into a club!!! VADER in the church?! On Sunday?! OK!!! And so perfect!!! The show gathered about 300 maniacs, their feedback was nothing but just overwhelming! This night we played a great show too! Since this day I might play gigs only in churches!"

As previously reported, VADER is in talks with CD Projekt Red (Polish developer of computer games) to record some music for The Witcher game (web site). No further information is currently available.

VADER entered Hertz Studio in Poland on March 15 to re-record 25 of the best songs from their entire discography for a 25th anniversary release, to be issued in 2008. The set will also include a DVD containing tons of bonus features, such as archival recordings, live shows, video clips and other special material.

VADER's "Impressions in Blood" album entered the Polish national chart at position No. 8. The band's video for the song "Helleluyah (God Is Dead)" has been posted online at YouTube.com. The clip was shot with director Andrzej Wyrozebski, who is said to be one of the leading movie producers in Poland. Janusz Król (known from the Polish fantasy movie "Wiedzmin") was responsible for all special effects and the whole set design. Slawomir Panasewicz (who has worked on over 140 video clips!) was a cameraman.
