VAINGLORY Putting Finishing Touches On New Album

September 4, 2008

VAINGLORY/ex-CHASTAIN vocalist Kate French has issued the following update:

"Just wanted to let everyone know that [VAINGLORY's] new CD will be ready within the next few months and it is KICK-ASS!! No fancy frills, no guest appearances, no pricey names backin' us up, no name-droppin' or regurgitated, fake, money-making BULLSHIT, but if you wanna hear US do what we do, with no sugar-coating, THE REAL DEAL... that is what your gonna get and it is IN-YOUR-FACE, total groove-oriented HEAVY METAL!!!

"We're in the process of situating financial matters with our new label now for the video and marketing aspects of the CD, and because they are based in Spain it has taken a little longer than expected. So hang tight and when it's done, my friends, you will be the first to know!

"This CD, it's much different than anything I've done vocally. I wanted to show every kind of metal vocal style I can do, and I can do it ALL. From death to screamo to the Halford highs, to sissy L.A. girl fairy princess (I don't do that on this, though),but it is still me. Don't be too shocked, I think you'll like it. Not too much, but just enough of everything.

"Here are some track names: 'Epidemic', 'Waste of Skin', 'Manifesting Destiny', 'Comin' Back', 'Force Centrifical', 'Spit', 'Time of Reckoning', 'Getchu Some', 'Ballistic', 'Dead To Me', 'To My Face', and maybe a couple bonus tracks too.

"I was listening to this today while I was workin out, it pumped me up (lol). It makes me, how do I say it... wanna KICK ASS!!!! So if you wanna get some good adrenaline going, you've gotta hear it!"

VAINGLORY, which also features lead guitar virtuoso Corbin King, recently inked a deal with Locomotive Records. The group's follow-up to 2007's self-titled CD is tentatively titled "Manifesting Destiny" and will contain 11 "bone-crushing, devastatingly heavy tracks," according to a press release. "The sound of this CD will be a bit different than the previous in that the songs are heavier, tougher, the choruses bigger, and feature the best performances from all the bandmembers."

Joining King and French in the band's current lineup is bassist Chris Banja.

VAINGLORY's self-titled CD was released in Europe in April 2007 via MTM Music.
