VAINS OF JENNA To Release New Album In April
March 2, 2011Swedish/American rockers VAINS OF JENNA will release their new album, "Reverse Tripped", on April 5 via Deadline (a division of Cleopatra Records). The CD's first single/video, a cover of the CEE LO GREEN hit "Fuck You" (also available as a clean edit under the title "Forget You"),can now be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
A release party for "Reverse Tripped" will be held on April 1 at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California.
VAINS OF JENNA last year announced the addition of singer Jesse Forte to the group's ranks.
Forte was raised in Orange County, California and comes from a musical background. He attended music school at MI, played in a slew of bands since a teenager and even admits he panhandled on the corner playing guitar for money. Jesse says, "I am a performer first. Whether it be five people or five thousand — I embrace that opportunity to sing and play music."
VAINS OF JENNA's new vocalist was born in Arkansas but moved to the West Coast at a very young age. Eventually Hollywood's music scene came calling and Jesse started killing and thrilling crowds on the Sunset Strip.
"We first saw Jesse in 2009 when his band opened for us at the Cat Club," says VAINS OF JENNA co-founder and bassist JP White. "And he blew us away."
The Swedish rockers have had lots of success during their young career in the States. So the departure of their longtime friend, Swedish comrade and vocalist Lizzy DeVine was no doubt a big blow — but the band refused to lay down and die. "It's not in my blood to stop doing what I started," says Nicki Kin, the band's main songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. "I love music, I live music, and this is what I do."
