VAN HALEN: Toronto Concert Sold Out Within Minutes, Second Show Added

August 18, 2007

VAN HALEN's October 7, 2007 concert at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada sold out within minutes after tickets went on sale this morning (Saturday, August 18). A second show at the same venue has been added for October 12, 2007 and that concert appears to be headed for a quick sellout as well.

As previously reported, VAN HALEN has made VIP packages available for fans with hundreds of dollars to burn. According to Idolator.com, the group is offering both a "four-star" and a "five-star" package through ILoveAllAccess.com. The first package gets you a seat in the first 20 rows and an "exclusive" gift, while the second one includes a reserved seat "inside the ramp" — wherever that is — a souvenir laminate pass, a backstage tour, access to a pre-show party and "crowd-free" merchandise shopping, a VAN HALEN gift bag and VIP parking. Prices were not listed, but will most likely be at least $250 a person.

VAN HALEN announced the details of its long-awaited reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth on Monday (August 13) in Los Angeles. The tour kicks off on September 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The trek will be the first in 22 years to feature Roth behind the mic.

On the absence of bassist Michael Anthony from the lineup, Roth said at Monday's press conference: "Michael Anthony is part of this band's history. There's a lot of great alumni who have been through this band. I'm shocked that any of us are still vertical after 30 years. And as far as why Wolf is in the band, may I speak for you, Ed? I understand how he wanted to play with the boy because he's amazing."
