VELVET REVOLVER Drummer: 'I Want To Get This Album Done And Get Back On Tour'

VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has posted the following message on his official blog:

"Had a small break from writing the [new VELVET REVOLVER] album last week. Slash [VR guitarist] took his son Cash to Disney World for his B-Day. So I took a trip to Lake Tahoe in the mountains of California and Nevada. Did some rock climbing, hiking, waterskiing, rented a sailboat, Went to a BEN HARPER concert and all around had a great time. Back to work this week. Want to get this album done and get back on tour to rock for all you beautiful people."

Sorum recently told ABC Radio's ePrep that the band is on track to have its sophomore album, tentatively titled "Libertad", in stores in the spring. No producer has been chosen at this point, but the group has been speaking with Rick Rubin (AUDIOSLAVE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLAYER, SLIPKNOT),hoping to get him to come on board for the project.
