VELVET REVOLVER's WEILAND On Rehab Treatment: 'I Can't Wait To Get Out'
February 26, 2004VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland (ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) spoke to Rolling Stone magazine to clear up recent reports suggesting he had walked out on his latest drug-rehabilitation treatment. The singer is currently staying at a rehab facility in Malibu, California. "It's hard, but my wife and kids can come visit me here every weekend," he says. "I just can't wait to get out so I can be there for them." The singer hopes he will be able to work out an arrangement to tour this summer.
As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER's debut album, "Contraband", is scheduled for release on May 18 through RCA Records. The CD, which will include twelve of the more than fifty tracks the band co-wrote before and after Weiland joined the lineup last spring, was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND) and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER, SEPULTURA). Mastering took place on December 19 in New York City.
