VELVET REVOLVER: Special Edition Of 'Contraband' Cancelled

April 28, 2004

According to MusicTAP.net, the previously announced special and limited edition of VELVET REVOLVER's "Contraband" CD, featuring a bonus DVD, has now been officially cancelled. No reason was given for the cancellation.

In other news, the bonus track "Bodies" (originally written and recorded by the SEX PISTOLS) will be included on both the European and Japanese editions of "Contraband" and not only on the U.K. version as previously reported. The Japanese release is scheduled for June 2 while the European/Australian is scheduled for June 7.

VELVET REVOLVER — who've only played one show before (last year in Los Angeles) — recently shot a video for the album's first single, "Slither", with director Kevin Kerslake (NIRVANA, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, IGGY POP). Look for the "Slither" video to premiere Thursday, April 29 at 9:00 PM Eastern/Pacific as part of MTV2's "Makes The Video".

VELVET REVOLVER will embark on a North American tour beginning on May 13 in St. Louis, Missouri.
