VENGEFUL: Former Drummer To Fill In For Album Recording Sessions

March 18, 2008

Guitarist/vocalist Jean-Marie Leblanc from Montral's VENGEFUL has issued the following update:

"We come back with refreshing news. We will re-re-record the drums for our next album in July (DETHKLOK anyone???). It's with great pleasure that we welcome back Etienne Gallo (NEGATIVA, AUGURY) as a fill-in drummer for the upcoming recordings. Most people don't know that Gallo was actually VENGEFUL's first drummer during the early stages. Even though we're very happy to have him behind the drum kit, the drummer slot is still open so interested drummers can contact us through MySpace.

"As promised, it's now time to release a new song for the faithful out there. We give you 'Twisted Side'. This track will NOT appear on our second album. It's actually a rough mix of an old song that was updated to our modern sound. It doesn't necessarily represent the direction of the new material but we thought it could keep some of you interested.

"We're aiming for a fall release. I promise you won't be disappointed."

VENGEFUL last year posted the video for the song "Sentenced". Regarding the clip, the group previously said, "It's violent yet not gory. Artsy yet very death metal. Some of the first images [we've] seen remind [us] of 'No Love Lost' (CARCASS)."

Watch the "Sentenced" video below.

"Sentenced" comes off VENGEFUL's debut album, "Karma", which was released in 2007 via Disconcert Music.

According to a press release, VENGEFUL "plays death metal that is fuelled by pure hatred and deep anger, accompanied by a firm sense of song structure and dynamic. . . Their music shows influences from pioneers such as GORGUTS, IMMOLATION, NILE and CRYPTOPSY."
