VICIOUS ART Continue Writing Material For New Album

July 8, 2005

VICIOUS ART, the new Swedish death/thrash band featuring former DARK FUNERAL members Matias Mäkelä and Robert Lundin, along with Jörgen Sandström (THE PROJECT HATE, ex-ENTOMBED, GRAVE) on bass, have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We want to inform you about what's going on in the VICIOUS ART camp at the moment. We are currently writing and rehearsing songs for our next album. So far we've come up with five songs or so and we continue on our songwriting formula that wildly mixes thrash, death and black riffs. You'll get your share of the usual blastbeats, 'headbanging' parts and speed agressiveness that we brough you on 'Fire Falls...', and arguably more so this time.

"We are in a highly intensive songwriting mood right now and things are looking (sounding) great. We cannot yet say when we will enter the studio to record our next album (the studio which by the way probably have moved its location as we write this),and even less when the album will be released. However, a qualified guess would be that it is recorded late 2005 or early 2006 with a 2006 spring release.

"When it comes to live performances we have some shows in the pipeline this fall. All in Sweden, but it is too early to give you any confirmed dates and co-acts. Rest assured though that any and all gigs will premiere some of our new songs that the public has yet to experience. And as always we eagerly look foward to the response from our fans.

"Furthermore, there has been talk about us shooting a video. We're looking at some options right now, of which one would be awesome (it includes a famous director). But this is a delicate matter when we have to put our economic sufferings next to the realistic benefits, which indeed is not easy in a case like this.

"Anyhow, there are ways to shoot film that are less expensive, and so it is very likely that we will end up with something on the screen.

"Finally, we would like to point out that we are very happy about most of the reviews that have come to our attention since the release of 'Fire Falls...' (including the reviews from our live performances) and that we promise not to disappoint you in the future. Also — if by accident some of you still don't get it — THIS IS NOT A PROJECT. When we talk about the future within our band we are already looking at many album releases to come, so once and for all: WE ARE VICIOUS ART — nothing more, nothing less.

"Oh, and by the way. Don't forget to listen to a certain old band from England [BLACK SABBATH], who most would agree started what is today known as metal. They recently blew the Globe Arena in Stockholm away."

VICIOUS ART's debut album, "Fire Falls and the Waiting Waters", is now available via Threeman Recordings (Europe) and Candlelight Records (U.S.). Download the album track "Komodo Lights" at this location.
