VICIOUS RUMORS Confirm Italian Tour Cancellation

May 7, 2004

As first reported here on April 30, long-running San Francisco Bay Area metallers VICIOUS RUMORS have now officially confirmed the cancellation of their previously announced Italian tour. The group's statement on the matter is as follows:

"Dear Fans, with much regret, VICIOUS RUMORS has had to cancel their Italian tour. Lead guitarist Geoff Thorpe recently underwent back surgery and although the procedure was successful, and a full recovery is expected, he will need some time to recuperate making it impossible to attend the Italian dates.

"In the meantime, VICIOUS RUMORS's upcoming DVD, 'Crushing the World - Part 1' is in production and due to be released later this summer. The band will be perfecting the material for their forthcoming studio album, 'Immortal'. The album is scheduled for release in 2005 with extensive touring in its support to follow.

"With that in mind, VR would like to thank the promoters for the Gods of Metal Festival in Italy for rescheduling the band for the festival in 2005!"

The "Crushing the World - Part 1" DVD will tentatively include the following:

* VR live at the Wacken Open Air & Bang Your Head festivals in Germany.
* Tour clips from the 2002 European tour with SAVATAGE
* Clips from U.S. gigs in 2002 with AEROSMITH, SCORPIONS & DEATH ANGEL.
* 3 new, unreleased songs "that kill!"
* AND, as a special bonus, four MTV videos from the '90s featuring none other than the late, great Carl Albert and the old-school VR lineup!!!
