Video: Reunited Original Lineup Of TORCH Performs At ROCK AT SEA (Video)

December 18, 2013

After a couple of false starts, the original lineup of classic Swedish metal band TORCH finally reunited and played one of its first gigs on November 15 at Rock At Sea. This marked the first time the original lineup of TORCH has performed together since 1986. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.

TORCH released its debut EP, "Fireraiser", on Mausoleum Records in 1982. The record was an instant critical and commercial success, which enabled the band to tour around Europe, and play a bunch of festivals, in those days with the likes of WARLOCK (featuring Doro Pesch) and MOTÖRHEAD. A year later, they issued a self-titled album and finally the 1984 effort "Elektrikiss". Despite continuously scoring favourable press coverage throughout Europe, the group folded sometime during 1985. Drummer Claus Wildt relocated to America to join MASI, while guitarists Chris First and Steve Streaker joined CRYSTAL PRIDE, and Dan Dark fronted a cover act. Dark eventually took the initiative to bring TORCH back to life, putting together a new lineup together that released "Dark Sinner", a collection of re-recorded versions of the band's classic anthems as well as two never-before-released cuts.
