VINCE NEIL Hopes To Record New Solo Album With Producer DESMOND CHILD

March 25, 2006

MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil has told RollingStone.com that he hopes to begin work on a new solo album when the band's massive, yearlong comeback tour, Carnival of Sins, wraps in May. For the follow-up to his last solo album, 1995's "Carved in Stone", Neil hopes producer Desmond Child - the man behind AEROSMITH's "Angel" and RICKY MARTIN's "Livin' La Vida Loca" - will get behind him.

"I'm hoping that it'll be Desmond!" said Neil. (The pair have already collaborated, on "Promise Me", Neil's 2004 single.) "And I'm hoping it can be out early next year."

CRÜE are scheduled to return to the studio this June and July for the follow-up to 2005's "Red, White and Crüe". The giants have been at work with uber-rock producer Bob Rock, who helped create their hair-metal classic, 1989's "Dr. Feelgood", and have a month of rehearsals scheduled to prepare.

"We need a month to get all the songs together and demo them, because there are lots and lots of ideas floating around," said Neil. He added that the CRÜE are still determined that their new material prove they're more than a nostalgia act. "We don't plan on going away any time soon," he says. "We're having a great time."
