VIOLENT STORM: New MICK CERVINO Audio Interview Available

April 6, 2007

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/VIOLENT STORM bass player Mick Cervino recently chatted with Dirt from MetalDreams.net about "Storm Warning", the new VIOLENT STORM CD. Additional topics included Mick's time with BLACKMORE'S NIGHT, how it is to work with Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen, the difficulty he had finding the right vocalist for VIOLENT STORM, K.K. Downing, and his thoughts on the various incarnations of RAINBOW and DEEP PURPLE. The interview is available for download in MP3 format at this location.

VIOLENT STORM's latest album, "Storm Warning" was produced by JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing (his first production credit outside of PRIEST),and features guest appearances by Downing, Malmsteen and Roy Z (HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON). An October 2006 interview with Downing conducted by "Pandora's Rock Box" for U.K.'s Radio Caroline station about about his involvement with VIOLENT STORM is available for download in MP3 format at this location.

VIOLENT STORM has announced that Martin Mickels will be joining the band when they tour in 2007. Martin, currently the lead guitarist with Gary Barden's band STATETROOPER, will be playing the parts performed on the album by rock luminaries Yngwie Malmsteen and Downing. Mickels is no stranger to stepping into the shoes of guitar gods — in STATETROOPER he replaced Brian Robertson (ex-THIN LIZZY, MOTÖRHEAD),and regularly plays the guitar parts co-written and performed by Michael Schenker for the MSG tracks performed by STATETROOPER.
