VISIONS OF ATLANTIS Keyboardist Says Chemistry With New Singer Is 'Really Great'
December 15, 2008Keyboardist Martin Harb of Austrian symphonic metallers VISIONS OF ATLANTIS has issued the following update:
"After many messages we got within the last weeks and questions why we don't reveal some more news and more information about our new female voice, I'd like to give you a little update right from the VISIONS OF ATLANTIS camp...
"First: We will release the information (name, pics and so on) about our new female singer when we got new photos with her, which is not done yet and not planned actually to be done within the next week or so, because we're really busy with doing post-production for our new album, which leads me to the next point.
"[In] 2009 a new VISIONS OF ATLANTIS album will be released and so I give you a few information about the process: Songwriting is finished already and we are working out arrangements and finalizing the vocal lines...The new tracks will cover the whole VISIONS OF ATLANTIS horizon from the last releases and will come up with some new influences and ideas to be integrated into the VISIONS OF ATLANTIS sound of 2009! We also have a surprise for the next album and we're gonna do something for the very first time in VISIONS OF ATLANTIS history, but more on that later.
"Well, from now on I'm gonna write a blog from time to time (maybe every week if there are things to tell you) to keep all of you updated and to give you the secure feeling that VISIONS OF ATLANTIS keeps in touch with all people out there and that we're working really hard to give you 2009 a new, great album...
"I'm really happy that I can tell you that the feeling and chemistry within the band and overall the feelings about the new songs are really great and bring us all into a very positive mood for the next year."
VISIONS OF ATLANTIS last year parted ways with the group's Minnesota-based vocalist, Melissa Ferlaak, and her now-husband, guitarist Wolfgang "Wops" Koch, due to "musical differences." As a result, the band's previously announced participation in the KAMELOT European tour was cancelled. Koch has since been replaced by the returning guitarist Werner Fiedler, who was responsible for much of the songwriting on the group's first two records.
VISIONS OF ATLANTIS's latest album, "Trinity", was released in May 2007 via Napalm Records. The CD was recorded at Dreamscape Studios and was mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. The CD's cover artwork was created by Anthony Clarkson, who has previously worked with BLIND GUARDIAN, HYPOCRISY and EXODUS, among others.
