VOIVOD Begins Recording New Album

November 7, 2017

Legendary Canadian sci-fi progressive metallers VOIVOD entered the studio on Monday (November 6) to begin recording their new album for an early 2018 release.

VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin told the Impact metal channel that the band's next record would be "a concept album, very intricate. It's very progressive thrash. Lots of psychedelia as well. The songs are pretty long. There is only one short rocker; all the rest is progressive music. It's a continuation of [2016's] 'Post Society' [EP]."

VOIVOD released another strictly limited seven-inch EP via Century Media Records on September 29.

Completing the vinyl release of the five songs featured on the "Post Society" mini-album, "Silver Machine" includes the HAWKWIND cover version that serves as the EP's title track as well as the song "Post Society".

The "Post Society" EP was issued in February 2016 via Century Media. It was the follow-up to 2013's "Target Earth", which marked VOIVOD's first album of new material written without original guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour's leftover riffs.

It is with great enthousiasm that we announce that Voivod is entering the Studio today for the next full lenght album!!

Exciting!!

Stay connected!
