VOIVOD Drummer Creates Official Artwork For Next Year's ROADBURN Festival

October 18, 2011

ULVER, ANEKDOTEN, BONGRIPPER, DOPETHRONE, FLESH PRESS, GNOD, LEAF HOUND, NECROS CHRISTOS, NECRO DEATHMORT and SPIDERS have been confirmed for next year's edition of the Roadburn festival, set to take place from Thursday, April 12 to Sunday, April 15 (the traditional Afterburner) at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.

Justin K. Broadrick will be Artist in Residence at Roadburn 2012. He will carry on a tradition that began in 2010 with ENSLAVED, followed by CIRCLE in 2011. Justin will play three different sets during Roadburn festival 2012, starting off as White Static Demon vs JK Flesh on Thursday, April 12 at the Midi Theatre. On Friday, April 13, he will perform as Final, and his residency will lead into Broadricks's main project, JESU, performing on Saturday, April 14.

In other news, the Roadburn organizers have unveiled the official artwork for the 2012 festival by VOIVOD's Michel "Away" Langevin. Inspired by sci-fi art of the '50s, '60s op art and early '80s computer-game robotic creatures from another galaxy, Away depicts Roadburn as a head-spinning, extraterrestrial invasion from a world far beyond the outer limits that only he could imagine.

Tickets for Roadburn 2012 will go on sale Saturday, November 26 at 10:00 Central European Time. There will be a two-ticket limit (per order) for three-day and four-day passes and Afterburner tickets.
