VORTEX Confirmed For Holland's DOKK'EM Open-Air Festival

January 21, 2008

Dutch metal band VORTEX has been confirmed for the Dokk'em open-air festival, set to take place August 9, 2008 near Leeuwarden, Netherlands.

According to a press release from the festival organizers, "VORTEX, formed in 1979, is one of Holland's first metal bands and released some acclaimed records (like 'Open The Gate' in 1986, the video for the title track was often played on MTV) and was featured on some sought-after '80s compilations (like 'Dutch Steel'). The band was disbanded in 1990, but the fan base kept on asking for a return. So eight years later the band picked things up again, released new albums and is today still perfroming throughout Europe."

The Dokk'em open-air festival billing is shaping up as follows:

DIAMOND HEAD (UK)
TRAIL OF TEARS (NO)
VENGEANCE (NL)
ANGER AS ART (USA)
HEIDEVOLK (NL)
INCURSION DEMENTA (NL)
VORTEX (NL)
