WARMACHINE Frontman Says Band Is 'Very Able And Willing' To Tour With MEGADETH In Europe

January 8, 2008

Vocalist/guitarist Joe Di Taranto of Toronto's WARMACHINE — which finished first in the recent "Who Will Support MEGADETH In Europe?" poll, conducted via TheLiveLine.com, with 21% of the vote — has issued the following statement:

"I have to address a matter that I am very unhappy about. [MEGADETH mainman] Dave Mustaine has stated [in a recent online posting] that 'WARMACHINE do not have the means to do the [European MEGADETH] tour.' This is COMPLETELY UNTRUE! We had MORE than enough means to do the tour (i.e. tour support, work visas, passports, crew, etc.). [Neither] Dave, nor his management, have not even bothered to contact us at all during this whole thing. So he/they would not be aware of that."

MEGADETH's upcoming UK will feature JOB FOR A COWBOY and EVILE in the support slots. Mustaine stated about the trek, "EVILE were the highest ranking band that had all of the things we were looking for in an opener and we are using the poll as a gift to local talent to get on some shows . . . There are several shows here we are going to give local bands a chance to play with us, not so they can 'play with MEGADETH,' but so that they can get a break. . . And JOB FOR A COWBOY is a special guest, and if you don't like them, you don't have to listen. Face it, three of the the UK shows were sold out before we even mentioned who was playing. You will go home happy, trust me!"

WARMACHINE played a release party for the group's DVD, "Raw in the Hammer", on September 8, 2007 at The Kathedral in Toronto. The disc contains footage from the band's January 20, 2007 concert at The Underground in Hamilton, a documentary on the band's history, behind-the-scenes footage and more.

A live video of WARMACHINE version of the MEGADETH classic "Tornado of Souls", which appears on the "Raw in the Hammer" DVD, can be viewed below.

WARMACHINE's debut album, "The Beginning of the End", was released in 2006 in North America via Nightmare Records.

"The Beginning of the End" features a guest appearance on three tracks ("Betrayed", "Empty" and "Taunted Souls") by former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson.
