Wednesday 13 has revealed to UK's Rock Sound magazine that he was battling with booze during the making of his forthcoming record, "Skeletons".

"When I started actually writing the songs for this record, I would go into my little studio I have at my home and I would do demos of these songs and I wouldn't even know what I'd wrote, I'd be so drunk by the time I was done," he said. "I'd get up the next day and listen to these demos and hear these songs and I had completed everything, the lyrics and everything. So I was just sort of writing out of my body, in a sense, because I didn't even know what I had done 'til the next day."

Wednesday 13 quit booze in September 2007 after completing work on the record and claims to have been dry ever since.

"Skeletons" also sees the shock-rocker adopting a more personal lyrical approach than on previous outings.

"Everyone has just kind of painted me into a corner where it's just all, 'Oh, he's a horror rock guy, all of his songs are about 'Night Of The Living Dead' and zombies," he said. "With this record I was writing more about some personal stuff. I realized that a lot of the things that were going on in my life were still kind of spooky and dark and horror-related. So, I still think this record's kind of scary but it's more of a real-life scary."

Wednesday 13 will release two discs this spring, the full-length "Skeletons" (due on April 29),and the "Bloodwork" EP (which is expected in May).

Regarding the "Bloodwork" EP, Wednesday 13 said: Last year I wasn't able to release any new music due to prior record contracts. So this year I want to give back as much as I can to the fans with the new full-length 'Skeletons' and the 'Bloodwork' EP. These are songs that didn't really fit on to 'Skeletons' yet I didn't want to split them up and have them be scattered bonus tracks here and there."

"Bloodwork" EP track listing:

01. B-Movie Babylon
02. Return Of The Living Dead
03. Runnin' Down A Dream (TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS cover)
04. I Love To Say Fuck (2007)
05. My Demise B.C.
06. Skeletons A.D.
