WES BORLAND Says He Will Record New Album With LIMP BIZKIT

February 14, 2009

Guitarist Wes Borland — who has never been known to make contradictory statements in interviews and via his online postings — recorded a short video message last night (Friday, February 13) for the LIMP BIZKIT fan site The Armpit in which he confirmed that he will, in fact, take part in the recording sessions for a new LIMP BIZKIT album. "We are definitely back together," he can be heard saying in the clip, which is available for viewing below. "For all the non-believers, there is a new album, new tour, it's all going to happen. It's going to go off..."

Bob Suehs of Rock N Roll Experience reported on his web site on Friday that Wes told him one day earlier about his involvement with the reunited LIMP BIZKIT, "I'm only doing the overseas shows with them as of right now, and as far as the new record, with those guys, don't believe it until you see it. As of right now, there's nothing happening; I'm only doing the shows overseas with them and we'll see what happens."

Suehs tells BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "I spoke to Wes after his [February 12 performance in Towson, Maryland with his new band BLACK LIGHT BURNS]. He came over and hung out at his merch table and [those were] his EXACT words to me; there's no, 'maybe he said that.' I state my personal name on that quote and I'd take a lie detector test to prove I'm right."

Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal announced on Thursday, February 12 via a press release that they were reuniting for a tour and new CD.

The original lineup of LIMP BIZKIT was last active in the fall of 2001, after which Borland left the band to focus on his own music. Borland rejoined for the 2005 EP "The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1)", but left again shortly thereafter.

LIMP BIZKIT was one of the most popular rock bands in the world in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its first three albums have sold in excess of 20 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
