WHILE HEAVEN WEPT Sign With BLACK LOTUS RECORDS

June 3, 2005

Virginia-based epic doom metallers WHILE HEAVEN WEPT have inked a deal with Greece's Black Lotus Records. A statement from the band follows:

"We are pleased to announce after months of deliberation and the entertainment of various offers following the demise of our previous label that we have reached an agreement for a long-term collaboration with Black Lotus Records of Greece!!! We've already begun recording the new album, 'Vast Oceans Lachrymose', and are planning for a spring 2006 release! Fans new and old alike will be pleased to know that BLR have also agreed to re-release our previous albums in special editions featuring new artwork, new masterings, and some additional recording in some instances, so there is no need to continue paying outrageous eBay prices! Of course, we will be following up 'Vast Oceans Lachrymose' with another all-new album on BLR as well, and we can reveal that 75 percent of it is also already written! Plus, there are more releases and surprises to come!

"As for 'Vast Oceans Lachrymose' itself, we want everyone to know that it is clearly our most intense and diverse album so far — more progressive and aggressive than ever before, without betraying our trademark sound. Included in the album will be another long form composition of 14 minutes+, that we feel rivals what many to be consider our greatest work ('Thus With A Kiss I Die'). As always, the music is a sincere expression of who and where we are now, and not a rehash of past glories nor something that will be conveniently filed under a specific genre or label.

"We'll be looking forward to bringing all of these new releases to you and seeing you on the road in 2006 and beyond!"
