WHITE WIZZARD Pays Tribute To RONNIE JAMES DIO With New Single

October 6, 2010

"Shooting Star", a brand new song from Los Angeles traditional metallers WHITE WIZZARD, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The track, which was written as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio, is the first recording to feature new WHITE WIZZARD vocalist Peter Ellis.

A new WHITE WIZZARD single featuring "Shooting Star" and a cover of DIO's legendary anthem "We Rock" will be released via iTunes on October 18 and will also be made available as a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl exclusively on WHITE WIZZARD's upcoming U.K. headlining tour.

Wyatt Anderson and Erik Kluiber left WHITE WIZZARD after the band's U.K. tour with EDGUY to pursue different paths.

"Over The Top", WHITE WIZZARD's full-length follow-up to the "High Speed GTO" mini-album, was released on February 8 in Europe and March 9 in the U.S. via Earache Records. The CD was recorded with producer Ralph Patlan (MEGADETH, UFO, MICHAEL SCHENKER) and contains "10 songs that will rip your head off," according to bassist Jon Leon. The limited-edition CD version includes two bonus tracks of classic metal covers.

WHITE WIZZARD formed in 2007 and shortly afterwards recorded its "High Speed GTO" demo, which only made it into the hands of a few select fans. Following a brief period of inactivity, the demo fell into the hands of Earache Records and the "High Speed GTO" song was included on "Heavy Metal Killers", a compilation featuring 13 tracks from the best new traditional-sounding heavy metal bands. Earache Records released the "High Speed GTO" tracks as a mini-album.
