WHITESNAKE Frontman's Ex-Wife Inspired Car-Wash Scene In 'Bad Teacher'

November 16, 2011

The car-wash scene in Cameron Diaz's recent movie "Bad Teacher" pays homage to Tawny Kitaen, the ex-wife of WHITESNAKE/ex-DEEP PURPLE singer David Coverdale and star of several WHITESNAKE videos, including "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love?" The scene was also inspired by WARRANT's "Cherry Pie".

Kitaen appeared on Radio Screamer this past summer and spoke about how she found out about Cameron's "tribute" and what she thought of the "Bad Teacher" scene that she inspired. Check out the clip below.

Kitaen, 50, was married to Coverdale from 1989 to 1991. She had recurring parts on several television shows, such as "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys", and she co-hosted "America's Funniest People" from 1992 to 1994. She was arrested for drug possession in 2006, has been in and out of rehab programs, was part of "The Surreal Life" cast in 2006, and was one of the patients in Season 2 of "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew".
