WHITESNAKE: Phoenix Show Canceled

August 7, 2009

WHITESNAKE has been forced to cancel tonight's (Friday, August 7) concert at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona with JUDAS PRIEST and POP EVIL. According to a spokesperson for WHITESNAKE, the band's frontman/leader David Coverdale "has a case of laryngitis and his doctors insist that his show NOT go on tonight as planned. This will not affect other shows and they will be in Las Vegas tomorrow night as scheduled."

The spokesperson adds, "We are very sorry for the inconvenience but this sort of thing cannot be helped.

"I am sure you will join me in wishing David a very speedy recovery… and hope he stays out of the direct line of the air conditioning from now on."

JUDAS PRIEST and POP EVIL will both reportedly perform extended sets at the Phoenix concert to make up for WHITESNAKE's absence from the event.

Quality fan-filmed video footage of WHITESNAKE performing the song "Love Ain't No Stranger" at the California Mid-State Fair on July 29, 2009 in Paso Robles, California can be viewed below (courtesy of "lisapolisa").

WHITESNAKE and JUDAS PRIEST last toured together in South America during 2005 to great critical and commercial success and maintain a great friendship.
