WHITESNAKE's U.S. Return Delayed After Terror Scare

Vocalist David Coverdale and the rest of WHITESNAKE were delayed in their return to the U.S. from Europe yesterday (Thursday, August 10) after authorities foiled a terror plot in London. Coverdale wrote on the band's message board, "Well, looks like they don't want us to leave! Don't worry... there are NO snakes on any airplanes at this moment, so there is nothing to concern yourselves about our personal safety. God willing, it will be simply a threat, but obviously this is something that must be taken seriously on every level. I have no idea if we are going to be able to get home today, but let us pray that there are no tragedies in any way, shape or form this day. We have had a most memorable tour and this is an unfortunate resolve, but the most important thing is that everyone be safe today. It is likely we'll be staying in London and travelling whenever this situation is resolved. Oh, well. If that's the way it is to be... then so be it. My thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this situation."

In a follow-up message (dated today, August 11),Coverdale wrote, "Home safe after a crazy day! CRAZY, I tells ya!!! Thanks for ALL your thoughts and prayers. I'll tell you more later...as in... ALL will be revealed."

WHITESNAKE recently inked a deal with SPV Records. November 3, 2006 in Germany and November 6, 2006 in Europe will see the arrival of WHITESNAKE's new double live album, "Live ... In The Shadow Of The Blues", capturing for posterity the infectious enthusiasm that the band has presented all over Europe during this year's festival season. The strictly limited version of the double album will be available in a top-quality digipack, featuring a number of surprises, among them the bonus track "Crying in the Rain", including a haunting drum solo by drum legend Tommy Aldridge.
