WILL HAVEN: Official Statement On Split

January 15, 2003

WILL HAVEN have issued an official statement regarding their decision to disband following their final show together at the Capital Garage in Sacramento, California on Friday, Jan. 24.

The statement reads as follows:

"As most of you may already know, WILL HAVEN will be playing its final show on the 24th of January in Sacramento. The main reason for the HAVEN split is that [vocalist] Grady [Avenell] would like to take a break from music. We have been going at this since 1995 and sometimes you need to get away. As for now we do not see WILL HAVEN getting back together anytime soon but we will leave the door open for Grady. We would first like to thank everyone for their love and support over the years. We have made a lot of friends along the way and met most of our idols in music. The fans in England and Europe have been amazing, you have definitely kept the WILL HAVEN fire burning for the past 6 years, thank you so much. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us on our US tours. We have such a huge family that we wouldn't even know where to start with the thank yous but the people who know they are part of the will haven family we love you and you will always be a big part of our lives. A deep heartfelt thank you to 'E' Eric Stenman, Pete Reidling & Satellite mgmt, Music For Nations, Gloria and Max Cavalera, the whole SOUFLY tribe, Kerrang (Paul),Rock Sound (Darren),Brad Oates & Trainwreck Productions, and our big brothers the DEFTONES (we love you guys),and our biggest and favorite brother Iron Doug Dalziel.

"The good news is that the re release of the EP and DVD will still be released. We are hoping for a March date. It will be released in Europe and the US. As soon as we have a release date we will post it on the site. We will also be selling it on this site as well. We are now going to film the last show on the 24th and add it to the DVD. So those of you who cannot make it out to the show will be able to watch the chaos.
We still have some sweatshirts for sale and a few shirts as well.

"Some other good news is that the core of WILL HAVEN (Jeff, Mike & Mitch) will continue playing music but under a different name. We have tons of new material and will hopefully record most of it in March. The new stuff is amazing and we are very excited about it. We do have an idea who will take over as singing duties but we will not release that until the time is right. We hope to tour sometime later this summer as well, so please keep your eye out for the new stuff. We will keep this site going for a bit so you can check the willhaven.com site for info on that. You can still sign the guestbook and email Jeff as well for any info. Thanks again to everyone and look forward to seeing you again soon. Signing off."
