WINTERBORN, TUKKANUOTTA Added To FINNISH METAL EXPO

January 12, 2010

The lineup for the sixth annual Finnish Metal Expo at the Cable Factory in Helsinki has been finalized. The last bands added to the bill are melodic metallers WINTERBORN, who just returned from an extensive European tour supporting SONATA ARCTICA, as well as Helsinki-based death/thrash outfit TUKKANUOTTA, who will release a new EP on March 3.

A special feature that will open this year's Finnish Metal Expo on Friday, February 19 is the "Songwriting Workshop" by BEFORE THE DAWN mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen. Tuomas will be assisted in this interactive songwriting workshop by drummer extraordinaire Kai Hahto.

The program for the second stage hosted by Musamaailma is also ready. In addition to previously announced artists, a drum clinic by Rolf Pilve, live show by LEVERAGE and PDP by DW Drummer Contest will take place.

The sixth annual Finnish Metal Expo will be held February 19-20, 2010 in Helsinki.

Finnish Metal Expo, the main event of Helsinki Metal Meeting, is taking over the Cable Factory for the sixth time next year. This is where more than 50 operators in the metal music industry showcase their latest offerings in the exhibition area and the hot metal acts take the stage.

The Finnish Metal Awards gives the public the chance to vote the best of Finnish metal in 2009. The voting began on November 1 at www.imperiumi.net/fma.

The Finnish Metal Awards gala will be held at the Cable Factory on Saturday, February 20.

In addition to the consumer aspect of the event, the Industry Day gathers the metal industry people from all over the world. The Industry Day will be held at the Nosturi club, one of the main music venues in Helsinki, on Thursday, February 18.

Finnish Metal Expo is an all-ages event, with bars available to those over 18 and feeling the urge for such services.
