WINTERTHRALL To Release Debut Album Next Month

November 18, 2006

Drummer Rob Alaniz (NOCTUARY, RISE, EVILDEAD) of the the Orange County, California-based doom/death metal band WINTERTHRALL has posted the following message on the group's web site:

"Firstly, our friend Jeremy Peto has unfortunately decided to leave the band in order to concentrate on his music full time. We will miss him and wish him the best of luck with any and all of his future endeavors. Now I'd like to introduce you to our great new guitarist Josh Standifer. Ruben Lugo has resumed his duties on bass guitar and vocals. And Steve [Nelson] and I, well, we're still here!

"The new lineup made its live debut November 4th in Las Vegas along with Aztec death metallers MICTLANTECHUTLI. And that same week on November 9th with our Necro pals NOKTURNE at the Westchester Bar in L.A. Both shows were GREAT! We'd especially like to thank the awesome crowd in Las Vegas for making Josh's first show such a great night!

"Our debut full-length CD, 'Nightmares for the Sleepless', should be out this December via our own label Murderous Dark Records (if we get enough cash together!; if not, for sure in January/February '07. In the meantime I've put up another song, 'Edifice Of Betrayal', on our MySpace page so check that out and leave us some feedback!"

"Nightmares for the Sleepless" was recorded at Shiva Industries Studio in Santa Ana, CA with Sir-Loin John Haddad at the helm and will feature 10 to 12 tracks, including "The Audient Void", "Blood From A Broken Wing", "Standing In The Light Of A Failing Sun", "Edifice Of Betrayal", "Cycles Of The Flesh", "In Frozen Apathy", "Malevolence", and "By The Will Of The Night", plus re-worked versions of the demo tracks "The Nightmare Passages", "Dreams To Dust", "...And The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing", and "Autumn Caskets". The band also recorded two covers (BRUTAL TRUTH and CARCASS) which may or may not end up on the CD as bonus tracks.
