WOLF Part Ways With Drummer, Announce Replacement

May 31, 2005

Sweden's WOLF have parted ways with drummer Dale Bergkvist. "All you fans that saw us during May might have noticed that there was a new bastard behind the kit — Tobbe Kellgren," the band write on their web site. "Tobbe is now the new WOLF drummer. He is a cool guy and a great drummer whose previous career includes bands such as DISSECTION and SWORDMASTER."

Here's what Dale has to say about his decision:

"I feel that I have accomplished everything I have ever dreamt of with WOLF. I have been a part of three excellent albums, and I have been on the road with SAXON. What more can a heavy metal boy ask for?

"Now there's something new in my life that feels so much more important to me, and that's my son. I can't stand the thought of being away from him for two weeks while I'm out playing, and that feeling together with the 'I'm pretty much done here' vibe is basically what made me come to the decision to leave the band. I want WOLF to go on and be all that they can be, and I would just slow them down.

"I want to thank all the fans and cool guys and girls that I have met during the last 8 years. You made this metal journey a wicked ride. Thanks!"

Dale will continue work with the band, taking care of business like merchandise designs, promo work and other behind-the-scenes stuff.
