Woman Gives Birth At METALLICA Concert In Brazil

May 9, 2022

A woman gave birth during METALLICA's concert Saturday night (May 7) in Curitiba, Brazil.

Tattoo artist Joice M. Figueiró was 39 weeks pregnant when she attended the show at the Estádio Couto Pereira, which was part of METALLICA's six-date tour of South America.

Joice, who was seated in the accessible/disabled section of the stadium, felt well during support acts EGO KILL TALENT and GRETA VAN FLEET's performances but started having contractions when METALLICA took the stage.

Figueiro's water broke on the way to the event's outpatient clinic and there was no time to take her to the maternity hospital.

"Luan Figueiró came into the world on 05/07/2022 at 23:15 shaking all the metal structures", she wrote on Instagram.

According to the tattoo artist, the band played the final song of its set, "Enter Sandman", at the moment of birth.

"At every show I go to, something has to happen, but this time I think I've outdone myself", she commented on the social media platform.

Figueiró added that she was physically fine, but still trying to process what had just occurred.

"I bought this ticket three years ago and I never imagined something like this would happen."
