WORLD COLLISION: 'Essenger' Video Available

April 7, 2010

"Essenger", the new video from WORLD COLLISION — the new Sarasota, Florida-based band featuring former NEUROTICA guitarist Shawn Bowen — can be viewed below. The clip was filmed and edited by Kimyoo Films.

"Essenger" comes off WORLD COLLISIONs' second album, "Trancention", which came out last year.

Regarding the band's musical direction, Bowen stated: "WORLD COLLISION certainly has its roots in rock and metal music, but in this band I play an eclectic mix of different instruments from all over the planet. I play sitar, hammered dulcimer (sometimes through a cry-baby pedal),harmonium, a new instrument from India called a 'Shahi Baaja' that has 15 strings, and on one song I play propane tanks that have 'tongues' that are tuned to sound somewhat like an eerie, dissonant xylephone. Our drummer actually carved his own drum kit with a chainsaw and uses goatskins on them rather than plastic drumheads, and tunes them with ropes in the African tradition. He even carved the guitar I play with his chainsaw. Instead of bass guitar, we have a didgeridoo player for low end, he makes his own didges and has one or more in every key possible. And we have an amazing female vocalist, so this band really has a new, and fresh sound that I've never heard before and simply can not be replicated by any other group of people."
