X JAPAN Postpones Shows

June 10, 2008

According to a posting on the Jrock Revolution web site, reactivated Japanese rockers X JAPAN have postponed their previously announced shows in France, Taiwan and New York City. An official statement has not yet been released, but it appears that the decision to call off the shows was made due to concerns about drummer Yoshiki's health.

The affected dates are as follows:

Jul. 05 - Paris, France - Villepinte Parc D'exposition
Aug. 02 - Taipei, Taiwan - Taipei World Trade Center
Sep. 13 - New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden

As previously reported, X JAPAN headlined the 10th-anniversary edition of the annual Hide Memorial Summit, a two-day tribute festival to the band's late guitarist Hideto "Hide" Matsumoto, who committed suicide in May 1998. The event took place May 3-4 at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.

Professionally filmed video footage of the concert can be viewed on YouTube. On of the clips is available below.
