Y&T: 'Black Tiger' And 'Mean Streak' To Be Reissued With Bonus Tracks

November 23, 2005

Legendary California hard rockers Y&T will be re-releasing their classic "Black Tiger" (1982) and "Mean Streak" (1983) albums with bonus tracks in January. "These CDs were carefully digitally re-mastered at a high sampling rate directly from the 1/2" analog master tape," reads a posting on mainman Dave Meniketti's web site. "This new CD sounds closer to the actual 1/2" master tape than any version available. "This is not an over compressed, EQ'd and hard sounding product like many re-mastered CDs — just loud, clear, dynamic and acurate to the original tapes!" Along with the original songs, each album contains an additional bonus track that was taken right from the 24-track master reel from the "Black Tiger" recording sessions and finished in 2005 with new lyrics vocals, guitar solo and then remixed.

"Black Tiger" reissue track listing:

01. From the Moon
02. Open Fire
03. Don't Wanna Lose
04. Hell or High Water
05. Forever
06. Black Tiger
07. Barroom Boogie
08. My Way or the Highway
09. Winds of Change
10. Somebody for Me (bonus track)

"Mean Streak" reissue track listing:

03. Lonely Side of Town
04. Midnight In Tokyo
05. Breaking Away
06. Hang 'Em High

As previously reported, the original lineup of Y&T — vocalist/guitarist Dave Meniketti, bassist/vocalist Phil Kennemore, guitarist Joey Alves and drummer Leonard Haze — will reunite for a New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) concert at the Avalon in Santa Clara, California. Also appearing on the bill will be THE FRANK HANNON BAND (led by TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon) and RUBBERSIDEDOWN.

Prior to the New Year's Eve concert Meniketti and his solo band will play at Dave's annual birthday bash on December 10 at Little Fox Theatre in Redwood City, California.
