As previously reported, Y&T, who recently re-released their classic "Black Tiger" (1982) and "Mean Streak" (1983) albums with bonus cuts, have received the green light from the Universal Music Group (which owns the Y&T catalog) to reissue their 1981 effort, "Earthshaker". "That's great news for two main reasons — we'll have control over the remastering process to be sure it turns out the best we can get. Also, we can assemble some more pictures and comments for the booklet to make it a complete package," the group's frontman Dave Meniketti wrote on their web site. "Who knew what Hip-O [who originally had plans to re-release the CD] would have done left to their own judgement? We will also be re-releasing 'In Rock We Trust' at the same time. This one will likely have a bonus track included (more about that later). If all goes well, expect these to be released before the end of the year (playing too much to get it done earlier)."

Y&T last month announced that they have officially parted ways with drummer Leonard Haze. A replacement drummer, Mike Vanderhule, has already been recruited.
