YAKUZA Frontman To Record Solo Album
June 14, 2007YAKUZA frontman Bruce Lamont will begin recording his first solo effort at the end of June with producer Sanford Parker (MINSK, PELICAN, YAKUZA) at Volume Studios in Chicago, Illinois. Musically a departure from the YAKUZA material, Lamont's compositions focuse less on song structure and more on creating varying moods utilizing voice, horns, guitar, electronic effects, loop pedals, and percussion. "I construct pieces while they are happening, improv with intention so to speak," he says. "It has open noise and melodic moments, not in any traditional sense. A broad dynamic spectrum of sounds."
Lamont has been performing solo material over the past year, playing with a variety of artists such as Scott Kelly from NEUROSIS, BATTLES, Toby Driver from KAYO DOT and performing at the Relapse Records showcase as the South by Southwest this year.
Bruce Lamont will perform a number of dates this summer:

Jun. 21 - Trocadero (Balcony) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Jul. 17 - Galaxy - Santa Ana, California
Jul. 18 - Key Club - Hollywood, California
